air fryer homemade pizza uncrustables

Last updated: September 2023

Bringing you homemade pizza uncrustables in the AIR FRYER. Delicious, easy, and an overall fun way to serve both a sandwich & a pizza to your little ones.

Green silicone suction plate with two air fried pizza uncrustable triangles, roasted broccoli, and fresh mango.

Making uncrustables at home has never been easier, and is one of my go-to toddler lunches lately! I use these sandwich cutters & sealers from Amazon to cut & seal the sandwiches and the flavor combinations are endless. That being said, it really doesn’t get more fun than a pizza uncrustable, made crispy in the air fryer. I hope you enjoy this one as much as we do!

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2-3 TBSP pizza sauce (amount will vary based on preference of saucy-ness)

  2. About 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese

  3. Handful of chopped pepperoni

  4. Sprinkle of Italian seasoning

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat air fryer to 360F

  2. Lightly press down two slices of sandwich bread with your hand

  3. Using sandwich cutter (linked the one I use at bottom of recipe card), cut out triangle shapes and open up each triangle sandwich

  4. Spread pizza sauce, then top with cheese, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning

  5. Cover with top slice of sandwich bread, bring both triangle sandwiches together to form a square, and press down with sandwich sealer to form "uncrustable"

  6. Lightly spray each side with oil (I like avocado oil spray) and air-fry for 4-5 minutes until slightly golden on top

  7. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving

NOTES

If storing in fridge or freezer, make the sandwiches and don't air fry. Freeze them in air-tight container through step 5 of the recipe for up to 2 months, keep in fridge for no more than a day (will get soggy if you store pre-air fried longer than this). Air fry straight from fridge as directed in recipe. Thaw overnight in fridge from freezer, then air fry as directed in recipe.

The seal doesn't have to be perfect here, but it needs to be sealed well enough so the ingredients don't fall out in the air fryer.

WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVER CRUST

  • Homemade Croutons: Cut up bread into small squares and toss in cast iron with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until nice and golden. Let them sit in the cast iron for 10 additional minutes to dry out and add to recipes. They go so well in salads or soups OR are the perfect snack to munch on.

  • French Toast Bites: Cut up bread into small squares, dip into batter (check out my French toast recipe for ingredients on the batter) and toss them around in a pan until golden brown.
